George Clark

George began his singing training as a chorister at Truro Cathedral, which sparked his

passion for music. He featured as a soloist on the Truro Cathedral Choir recording as well as

performing live on ITVs " Born To Shine" and performing a solo recital at Dartington Hall.

Since his voice has changed he now trains as a bass/ baritone and has  completed a year as

a bass choral scholar at Truro Cathedral, as well as being a first bass in the main choir of the

National Youth Choir of Great Britain. He is moving on to study a Music Degree at York

University and has been awarded a Choral Scholarship at York Minster







                                      Matt Perry

                                      Matts passion for singing began when he joined MJUK at the age of 13 and he met Maria

                                      Jagusz. Since then he has become heavily involved in various amateur dramatic societies,

                                      including MJUK, Cirencester Operatic Society and Longborough Festival Opera.

                                      Matt is currently studying at the London College of Music, training in Musical Theatre.

                                      He hopes to one day perform on the West End and his biggest dream is to perform in Phantom

                                      of the Opera







Gilly Wells

Gilly graduated as a soprano on the Vocal and Opera studies course at the Royal Welsh

College of Music and Drama in 2013. She is often a guest soloist with choral groups and male

voice choirs. Recent highlights include performing the soprano solos in Handels Messiah,

Mozarts Requiem & the Bach Magnificat. In 2014 she was a prize winner in the prestigious

English song competition and was awarded senior vocal champion in the Bristol Festival of

Music and Drama. She continues her vocal training at The Royal Scottish Conservatoire

where she is studying for a Masters Degree. Following this Gilly hope to pursue a professional

career in opera and recitals






                                    Daniel Annear

                                    Daniel is from St. Blazey in Cornwall and in Sept 2015 is beginning his training at the Arts

                                    University in Bournemouth. He is a talented and hard working performer and is delighted to

                                    have received the Chris Treglown Foundation Fund Award 2015

                                                                              Alicia is from Wadebridge and currently

                                                                              studying at the London School of Musical

                                                                              Theatre





                                    Flo Bonner

                                    Flo is aged 19 and from Saltash. She has studied singing and drama since she was seven

                                    She has won many cups and trophies over the years and her singing voice has helped to raise

                                    money for local worthy charities. She enjoys attending workshops and has had great

                                    experiences with the National Youth Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival

                                    She is currently studying music and musical theatre at Chichester University

                                               Alice Baker

                                               Alice was the recipient of an Award in 2012. Alice has continued to show her amazing

                                               talent appearing with Julian Clary in ‘Cinderella’ in Wolverhampton, playing ‘Nautica’ in

                                               her 3rd Year Drama School Production and recently performing in "Our House" at the

                                               Union theatre in London and she is about to begin rehearsing for her next professional

                                               panto where she is playing the lead role of Cinderella






George Turner and Jonathan Hyde

George (far right) became familiar with the genre of Musical Theatre

during his years at St. Austell College and he is now looking to hone his

skills and forge a career in the Performing Arts Industry

Whilst at the college George performed in ‘Pronoun’ written by Evan Placey

as part of the National Theatre Connections Project which is an annual

competition that sees young people up and down the country choose one

of ten plays to perform.

One version of each show is then chosen and showcased at the National

Theatre in July

Forty-seven other companies were competing and it was the St. Austell

College company that won!

Great friendships were formed with his fellow students and it has become one of George’s favourite memories “

It was mind blowing and a past experience that I now wish to achieve again one day” he says

George also participated in the Chris Treglown Foundation Fund concerts here in Cornwall in August 2014 in

association with MJ-UK Music and Arts and had a wonderful experience

Jonathan (far left) is originally from Gloucestershire and last year he received a scholarship to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on their full time Artist Masters course. Maria Jagusz was Johnny’s first singing teacher

and he has been involved in many MJ-UK Music and Arts productions including ‘The Secret Garden’, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, and ‘Les Miserables’

In 2011 he studied music at Cambridge University where he was a choral scholar at ST.John’s College. Jonathan

says “Living in the world of Opera is my ultimate goal, and studying at the Guildhall is the right environment for an aspiring Opera singer”




Sian Voller

Sian was the recipient of an Award in 2013. Sian is from Fairford in

Gloucestershire

She has been an active member of MJ-UK Music and Arts for many years taking

lead roles in their productions

Last year Sian was accepted at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire where she is

currently studying to be a classical singer

                                                     Chloe Arscott

                                                     Chloe is from South Petherwin near Launceston. She has always dreamt of

                                                     becoming a singer from a very young age. She has taken part in local theatrical

                                                     productions, and sung with choirs. In 2015 she won the vocal recital category at the

                                                     Cornwall Music Festival

                                                     She is currently studying German to enhance her repertoire and having weekly

                                                     lessons to enhance her skills

                                                     In September she is thrilled to be enrolling at the Birmingham Conservatoire where

                                                     she can continue her studies





Rosie Tuck

Rosie was studying Music, English Literature, Drama and Theatre Studies at

the Ridgeway School 6th Form College. Singing is her passion and she

enjoys working on a variety of styles and singing in groups and choirs.

She was accepted into the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and was

looking forward to being involved with the Longborough Festival Opera that

July

                                                         Elliott Coombe

                                                         Elliot is from Callington. He found his love for singing at a young age and began

                                                         singing lessons at the age of 7. Throughout his school life he took part in

                                                         various performance opportunities and later became part of a Plymouth based

                                                         company where he had lead roles in Les Miserables and Miss Saigon. He spent

                                                         six weeks in The Gambia teaching in a Primary School and organising some

                                                         sports and music workshops.  This experience enriched his life and made him

                                                         more determined to pursue his career in music. He was accepted to study

                                                         Musical Theatre at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. He is now

                                                         halfway through his training and excited about the experiences which lie ahead

                                                        

                                                        

                                                         Jack Holton

                                                         Jack is 24 and is beginning his post graduate training at the Guildhall in London

                                                         His family roots are in Cornwall and he was inspired by his late grandfather, who

                                                         every year drove him (from the age of 3) from Cornwall to the Royal Tournament

                                                         at Earls Court. Jack's love of music began with the trombone and he later went on

                                                         to have many wonderful experiences . Later he found a deep passion for singing

                                                         and performing and decided this was a route he wished to pursue. He intends to

                                                         use his time on the masters programme to further his skills in performance,

                                                         develop his voice and to put himself in the best possible position to start the next

                                                         stage of his career as a young professional singer


Nathaniel Shervington

Nat is age 20 and and from Devon. His  ambition is to be able to work in the

music, film and creative industry and to be able to perform on the world stage

within these industries . He has been a very popular and committed member

of MJ-UK Music and Arts over the years and is currently in his final year at

BIMM in Bristol. He is researching a personally relevant topic of vocal attrition

and the psychological and biological implications behind singing and vocal

attrition. Nat wants to develop his singing voice and continue with vocal

lessons and future courses in singing/ opera

Ollie Humphries

Ollie began his performing career with MJ-UK Music and Arts in their performance

of Chess. He was accepted at the Sylvia Young Theatre School

He has realised that singing is his passion and especially Musical Theatre

He is continuing with his singing lessons and has joined Stage Smart to enable

him to get as much performing experience as he can
